Finding a good racing suit is key. Everyone has their own preference. If you haven't already heard of Arena Powerskin Carbon Ultra then it's worth taking a look. If you are looking for compression look no further!
Pros:
Carbon fiber used to provide compression and support. This makes the suit one f the lightest suits out there
Bonded seams to reduce drag
Infinity Loop: supposed to help connect muscle groups. In theory, this will allow you to output more power with less energy.
Compression: This has one of the most compression of any suit out there, yet it is still comfortable to wear.
X-Pivot point: Allows swimmers the flexibility to raise their legs with ease and perform the breaststroke.
Cons:
This suit is tight. Some swimmers say it takes between 30 mins to an hour to put on.
Pro tips:
Tech suits typically last around 20 hours wet.
Don't put on a suit too early. The compression can make your legs feel fatigued because of the lack of circulation. I target to put my suit on 45 mins before my race. This gives me enough time to put the suit on (5-10 mins), and 10 min swim and 10 mins relax.
A plastic bag round the feet helps the suit slide over your foot a lot easier.
This was my favorite suit racing. I was still able to drop down a 47.3 100 yard butterfly after becoming a dad!!!
