As a swimmer who has competed at the 2008 FINA World Championships, U.S. Olympic Trials, and continues to compete in Masters swimming, I know what separates a race-day tech suit from one that just looks good on paper. This is my ranked list of the top 5 women’s tech suits for 2025 — tested for compression, fit, and race performance.

#1 Speedo LZR Elite 2 — Best Overall (~$500–600)

The Speedo LZR Elite 2 is the gold standard in women’s competitive tech suits. Full-body compression, bonded seam construction, and proven at the Olympic level. The kneeskin cut maximizes leg compression without restricting your kick. If budget isn’t a concern and you’re racing at the highest level, this is the suit.

#2 Arena Carbon Ultra — Best Runner-Up (~$400–500)

The Arena Carbon Ultra is a favorite among elite European swimmers. Carbon-fiber reinforced panels deliver exceptional core and hip compression, and the suit holds its shape race after race. The fit is slightly more forgiving than the LZR, making it a great choice for swimmers who find the Speedo cut too restrictive.

#3 TYR Venzo — Best Value (~$250–350)

The TYR Venzo delivers serious race-day performance at a lower price point. Its exo-skeleton compression targets the core, hips, and glutes. Durable kneeskin cut holds up over multiple race days. Excellent for club and college swimmers who want to step up without breaking the bank.

#4 Deboer Swim — My Personal Choice

I race as a sponsored athlete on Deboer Swim Team Elite. Engineered in the USA with precision compression mapping — the fit is built to match your body. The craftsmanship rivals any major brand. Use code TE_RANDALL10 at deboerswim.com.

#5 Speedo LZR Pure Intent — Best Entry-Level (~$200–280)

The LZR Pure Intent is Speedo’s entry into elite tech suits — ideal for first-time tech suit racers or budget-conscious swimmers. Moderate full-body compression and bonded construction give a real speed advantage over a practice suit without the extreme tightness of the Elite 2.

Final Verdict: For elite racing, go with the Speedo LZR Elite 2 or Arena Carbon Ultra. For value, the TYR Venzo is hard to beat. If you want what I personally race in, check out Deboer Swim and use code TE_RANDALL10. Whatever you choose, size down — a tech suit should feel uncomfortably tight when you first put it on.
